That’s what adds the flexibility to the beams, if they didn’t flex they would break!

I’m glad I don’t do general flatbed freight much. 12 hours to load this junk freight in Alabama. What a waste of time, but it gets me to the next load that’s worth it. At least is was no tarp D0CD4CCB-CF4D-4A0F-9205-6B25E3A73D2F.jpeg

Axis. If I know there’s a wait going into it it’s not so bad. I sat in the staging yard for 8 hours, about 30 min after I fell asleep they called three of us to the loading door, then it was 1 and a half hours before they even loaded the first truck. 4 hours after they called me to the door I was loaded at 2 am. Just let us sleep in the yard until you’re actually ready.

I’m sure there’s a method to their madness but that had 4 rows wide by as far as I could see each way with stack of plate. The majority of the time the crane was working, he was moving plates from one pile to another, mixing thicknesses as he went. From the outside looking in, it didn’t make any sense.

It didn’t help that they have at least 5 doors to load out of and they were using one for preloads and one for live loads, but both under the same crane.

This load and one other load round out me extent of hauling flat or coils steel. Both went from the stl area to Agco in Heston, Ks. Easy loading and unloading nice and quick also. 36FC4589-599A-4F6A-AB5A-3BF22EC91710.jpeg

Atlas Tube in Michigan ####ed me 3 weeks in a row with overweight loads, we aren’t quick learners. But it got me back to reload my weekly load to Canada. Then the customer showed me their purchase order for 45,000 pounds, what the scale also said I had on. Atlas Tubes paperwork said 42k. It was a full load of 1/4” wall 2x4 square tube, it’s not hard to figure out what it weighs. Bunch of scumbags. Of course it was always a Friday afternoon load so if we told them to unload it, like we should have, I’m stuck over the weekend.
