The FMCSA has begun the rule making process to require big trucks to have their speed limited. Time to make some noise. After they get this they will probably want to restrict us to the right lane.

Most company trucks already have this, why is this being pushed by the government?? If anything limit the cars to 70 mph and no more....

This is the only thing that would make me seriously consider getting out of the industry. I’m ungoverned, but because of fuel prices I’ve slowed down to about 63mph.
If every truck on the road is governed at the same speed, it will be a huge fluster cluck on already clogged roads. Incidents of road rage will go through the roof, and drivers will flee the industry like never seen before. For many carriers the insurance company rates dictate the governed speed.
