The FMCSA has begun the rule making process to require big trucks to have their speed limited. Time to make some noise. After they get this they will probably want to restrict us to the right lane.

Most company trucks already have this, why is this being pushed by the government?? If anything limit the cars to 70 mph and no more....

Will it automatically adjust in work zones? How about the states with 70-80mph limits?

How will this work if everybody just takes a couple days off..right where they are. Due to illness of course.

that'll never happen...the lobbyists for the general public, out number the non-existent lobbyists for the trucking industry..

This is the only thing that would make me seriously consider getting out of the industry. I’m ungoverned, but because of fuel prices I’ve slowed down to about 63mph.

If every truck on the road is governed at the same speed, it will be a huge fluster cluck on already clogged roads. Incidents of road rage will go through the roof, and drivers will flee the industry like never seen before. They think there’s a driver shortage now, let them push this through and see what happens.

For many carriers the insurance company rates dictate the governed speed.

dog & pony show that will do nothing to improve safety for trucks.
