Alright, I feel the need to chime in here even tho this is an old thread.....

Me and my wife have been with england now for about 10 months, 2 of those months up to right now spent in a lease truck. So far, we have never gone into the red...not even come close. There were a few checks that were kinda low, but that was mostly our fault. But usually, if we keep our miles above 5000 a week, we get anywhere from 1100 to 1500 bucks split for each of us each week. To some, that prolly dont sound like much, but it sure beats workin at McDonalds or Burger King flippin burgers. Its not as much as what i was earnin in the oil field, but its way more than what my wife was earnin makin 12 bucks an hour at Home Depot. Funny thing is, we could prolly net close to 2 grand per week, but we havent been bustin our butts as hard as we prolly shold be. The miles are there, we just need to plan better so we can repower loads from other drivers who are making a load late and if we know ahead of time that we will be showing up to our current destination way early. Key is, you gotta keep the truck running. Period. Its not a fancy new pickup or sports car you bought to cruise around town in; It is a tool to make money and if not used properly, it will end up costing you money. Its true what they say. If the wheels arent rollin, you aint makin money. Follow their fuel optimizer program religously. Put in what they tell you at any given fuel stop you may have. Sometimes, you can even manage to put less fuel in than what they tell you. I think buyin too much fuel is bogus too, but considering the way they charge you for fuel on a trip by trip basis, you can. Buying too much fuel will hurt your paycheck. If you constantly meet the requirements for the fuel cap program which is minimum of 5.8 paid miles per gallon and 75% fuel optimizer compliance, you will only spend $1.25 for fuel regardless of what the pump price is. Us for example, by cutting back on the amount of fuel we buy, we average about 6.3 to 6.5 PMPG.

Bottom line, it is possible to be successful with England's lease program if you take it seriously. Afterall, YOU are responsible for your own success. We're doin it, and there are many others out there who are as well. Granted, if you want to be a solo leaser, you're gonna have to really bust # $ $ to make it work but again, you cant blame England if you dont make it work because there are those who lease solo and make it work. But, lemmie tell ya, its alot easier if you team. Besides, team leasers are pretty much on the top of the peckin order for higher prioroty and coast to coast loads. Plus, alot of Englands customers require teams for the loads they get. FedEx, Conway, Nestle to name a few. If you insist on driving solo, theres a pretty high chance of not getting those loads. All Im saying, is even tho England isnt perfect, as with many, many others, they arent as bad as the general concencus of all these negative threads on this website that say they are.

I'll admit, their training program can be a joke if you get a piss-poor trainer. I know this because for a short time, we had one. Went back to SLC and got a new one, and the guy was awesome. If you're having trainer issues, tell your TC (training coordinator) and they will find a way to fix it.

But lastly, ( I promise now...) for some of the things the originall starter of this thread said, dont ##### about things like the bus ride you got to get you there. Yeah, it sucked, but did you have to pay for it?? How many other employers will get you a bus ticket to come to their school for training as possibly a job? Their "lodging" aint the greatest as well, but again, how many employers out there will put you up in a free room? Even if all the rooms are taken, they will even put you in a hotel. I know, bad England, huh? There are way more things I'd like to rebut in your thread but Im not gonna take the time to pick your post apart sentence by sentence. Anyway, for those of you that read this post, I hope it changes your mind about how you feel towards England instead of taking all these "England's a joke" or "England cheated me" or "England's *flease* program ripped me off" threads seriously when Id be willing to bet dollars to nickels (or however the heck that saying is sposed to go) that most of the negative claims at England we're mostly self inflicted.

So uh, you earnin those wages with England, or what?

I never said it was great but its better than some places. Keep in mind, ygr truck gets paid 90 cents a mile. After fuel, business expences, downtime fund, maintenence fund and a few others, we split about 40 cents per mile.

Thanks for the post and the info. My wife and I are planning to go to CRE in a couple months and it's nice to hear that someone is making it work.

Slave wages, well I've been out of work over a year now plus I have an old felony on my record. Nobody will take us for training plus work except CRE. Tell you what, I'll take any wages over this stupid unemployment crap.

    Don't you mean quickly ?:biggrin_2559:
Yeah , it's good to see somebody is making it worked at CRE so others don't get discouraged and miss the opportunity . I'm still wondering about certain operating expenses that weren't listed that will have to come out of the $.40 .
