City driver would probably make more than regional and you would be home daily. Home daily means daily round-trip commute. I think City Pickup & Delivery (P&D) pays $29.50 per hour, but you are always in city conditions. You should insist on talking to a couple of drivers doing each job at your Service Center. The office person that is emailing or talking to you will only know average pay, average schedule. I worked for a dedicated account for 18 years, not Regional and not OTR. We had day-cabs so we didn't have APUs. I'm 99,99% certain that every sleeper truck has an APU. If you have an APU they don't want you to idle too much and you won't need to.

Average miles seems to vary a lot per service center/terminal. I've never heard of any driver based at Nashville, TN yard happy about their miles. Several terminals elsewhere drivers complained they were driving too many miles because the terminal didn't have enough drivers. You need to talk to drivers at the terminal you will work from and doing the job you want. The company was good to me. I worked for them in one dedicated account for 18 years. It's a big company with many different jobs, so you can transfer if you don't like what you are doing. 20% of the employees have been with the company for at least 20 years. There are not many other companies that can say that. It felt like a family, but you have to follow company rules. I say Boy Scouts will like Averitt and Cowboys won't last a week at Averitt. You have to wear the company uniform, they pay for those. It's a nice clean company where they take driver opinions into consideration, if possible. Benefits are first-class and cheap to moderately priced for singles. I don't know how family coverage prices stacked up.

Weekends off usually means 34-48 hours, to be on-time for Mon AM appointment. They want you to fuel at company terminals

 

There are important differences between terminals. Avrt calls them Service Centers. I haven't worked at Avrt for 5 years.
