The simple answer is to save time. And a heavily loaded truck will stop in a shorter distance than a lightweight or empty one. Why limit trucks at 65 mph? Why not limit them to 45 mph? A 65 mph truck empty or loaded crashing is probably much the same as one going 70 or 75. This speed limiter mandate and the skyrocketing fuel prices are all small pieces of the Green New Deal puzzle that they want to force on everyone.

More like under his bridge. Definite troll. If I get a driver facing camera I'll start driving commando in a kilt. Hey, it's part of my heritage.

I've had an ungoverned truck and I don't think it saves time. I think that's just an illusion. Cut it down to 35 or 45? Spare me the sarcasm. If, or should I say, when this law gets passed, I'm sure it will be a reasonable amount. A driver can make his money running 60 mph or 70 mph. It ain't the speed that makes the money, it's the efficiency. Can a driver keep his door closed? Can a driver plan his trip properly? Is a driver worried about the 14 hr clock, or is he willing to run at any time around the 24 hr clock? The 24 hr clock is more important than the 14 hr clock in my view. Anyway, I don't know what the Green New Deal has anything to do with speed limiters, as the possibility of this being pushed has been around for quite some time now. If they mandate it with a range of 65 to 70, or under, I think that's fair. I'll even say 75. Anything past that is ridiculous amd excessive. As far as you saying it's easier to stop a heavy loaded truck at a high rate of speed, I don't agree with that all. I need a lot more space to stop when I'm grossing closer 80k.

That and there's other social media. I'm permanently banned from Facebook for talking about economics. It's reverse McCarthyism, you have to be a communist. However if you're on there you can share the link to trucking groups like the drivers side and others.
