There's a natural gas plant about a mile from the old house.
In the manager's office, there's a map of the Phoenix metro and surrounding areas, from like Apache Junction to Wickenburg.
He has a 50 mile radius circle drawn on it with the plant at the center.
Everyone asks," What is that?"
He says that's the area needed to be fully covered with solar panels to equal what that plant puts out.
What if it Snows?

please for all that is good - google cozad ramps and look at them closely.
You need to make sure that the ramps are low enough that the rollers hit it up a little ways. second, you want a nice smooth angle for the rollers to come up - short and steep is very bad both on the rear ends and because the shock will make the neck want to hop off the track.LoSt_AgAiN, Lumper Humper, MACK E-6 and 10 others Thank this. -

I have never run a mechanical detach myself, but here is a photo of what came on one of our trucks.
@Rontonio gave you good advise on looking at the Cozad design. I think these probably work pretty well as they will pick up the rollers lower than the bottom of the frame.
I think you will find that if your load is relatively stable you will want to move it to the back as far as you can and lift it, then move it forward and tie it down.
Oh, and make sure you share your experience after the first time on snow or ice that the neck spits the tractor forward when trying to lift a load!Last edited: May 6, 2022
