How come i have yet to hear anything about csa2010 from my company? i talked to one of our saftey guys 2 weeks ago and gave him the pilot book and he kind of rubbed it off like it was no big deal, saw him friday and he was reading deep on it in the book, and online... said he knew nothing about it.. our head saftey guy sends out a weekly message on the prevous weeks mishaps and what to do to avoid them, he has yet to say ANYTHING about csa...
anyone have any suggestions as to why this might be??
i plan on callin him by the end of the week to ask him why he hasnt sent a message out over the qc informing the rest of our company about this...
this is kinda a big deal right?![]()

DieselBear- I like you! Honest straight forward answers is what it's all about. It's not just us drivers that will get the blunt end of the stick with csa 2010, companies will be getting it too and that's how it should be! For those of us out there who really care about protecting our cdl's and functioning the right way, and want to see some of these flakey companies and the pitiful drivers they hire, taken off the road for good, well- that's just a welcome change for me. Maybe our companies will appreciate us more once the "others" are weeded out and the good ones can be indispensible once again!!!
dieselbear Thanks this. -
Sounds like your safety guy isn't really up on whats going on in the industry. My company has been talking to us about it for a long time and updating us with each step towards it going in to full effect.
dieselbear Thanks this. -
oh they are fully aware of this, infact, the owner of our campany was the chairman of the ATA, not anymore, but im pretttttyyy sure hes heard about it... ill putting a call into our saftey guy, or our coo and find out why they havnt said anything... its really got me thinking why they havnt/wont say anything about... odd if u ask me

perhaps they have a bad safety rating already and dont want to lose drivers

The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life.......... Theodore Roosevelt

Quinn said 20% of the trucks involved in accidents where speed was a factor were exceeding 65 miles an hour . Well Pat , that means 80% were doing under 65 miles an hour . In the last 30 months over 700 of them were USX trucks with 18 fatalities .
But I must say that was all USX accidents , unknown how many with speed as a factor .
