Add Minnesota. A change in the software for the DMV now requires *ALL* owners of trucks over 14,000 GVWR to have a USDOT number on file in order to renew the tags. My crawler hauler has a GVWR of 26,000, therefore I have to have a USDOT number for it. Safety Measurement System - Overview (U.S. DOT# 3717174)

Rates took a substantial dive today.

Look for a dramatic increase in the volume of ( thrashed upon ) used trucks soon.

You know it's amazing that people never learn from history. Every times rates shoot through the roof you have 1-2 years before a downturn. During that 1-2 years everyone and their brother wants to get into trucking for the easy money.

Next time you see extremely high rates utilize it to save. That isn't some new magical higher income for you. That's the economy giving you a chance to buckle down and save before she turns south. When the Fed runs the money printer full blast during those 2 years with low interest rates for 13 years, buckle down harder. Learn to read the writing on the wall rather than seeing $$$$$$.
