W9s are a smooth ride, I would never want one though. We recovered one once, which was my only experience with that kind of truck,

I don't know who wrecked the Pete, but it's pretty spectacular. No one's real sure of the story, but it involves a trainee who was supposedly passing someone else out by limon. He got on the soft shoulder and it sucked the truck off the road, up a hill and it jumped a pond. Totalled the truck and trailer and the freight was a loss as well. I guess trainer n trainee are okay, but the trainee has a fractured wrist.

My guess is they were in the 287 for the soft shoulder. It'd also explain why he was passing in a way he'd end up near the shoulder. I would also guess Central sent him to the doc to handle his wrist, and sent him home for good.

im gonna change my tune after sitting back and realizing that some posts may seem like they are scaring new drivers off i want all of you to come on down and get on with central. i figure the more drivers we get will really help us out cause a lot of times you go through an area you cant stop a enjoy the sights . with more drivers we will be able to spend more time seeing stuff that we pass by. we can probally all as a group whos sitting at the truckstops waiting on that 1 load between 10 tucks go and see stuff since theres less loads to haul. well all be getting extra34 hr resets so we can have a clean clock to run that next load and not worry about not having enough time left on your clock to do it. now this does come with a price we all wont be making as much but thats ok as the sights and things were gonna get to do will more than make up for it. and i dont want to hear any one complaigning when your 1000 miles from home and the wife calls and says the repo man is in the driveway or the bank just sent a foreclosure notice cause you didnt make enough to pay the bills the last couple of months. just put a smile on your face and rememimber that with all these drivers that theres not enough loads to go around and you make what you make cause times are tough and this was a decision you made all on your own to get out on the open road and live the life of a truckdriver. but on a more serious note the hardest thing will be when your kids call you crying wanting to know why you didnt make it home for there bday or school play or kindergarten grad after you promised to be there. it will all be cause theres not enough loads to get you home so just tell them youll be there when freight picks up and everbody will have enough to get them home cause central aint gonna deadhead ya 1000 miles just because you need to get home. they will understand. i personally think that this is gonna be great and cant wait till we all get to hang out and go do stuff with our extra time that were all gonna have including you new guys. so let the good times begin:iroc:

Well I made it home. With all the packing and unpacking I'm starting to hurt again pretty good so about to hit the Perocet and loratabs at the same time and sleep for while. after 3-4 weeks recovery at home I should be back to new again. Just wanted to say thanks for everyone being concerened and sending me well wishes it did not go un-noticed at all. It really made me feel like a part of the Central family. So thank you again and I will check in when I can hard to sit in front of the pc to long at one time.

We all know the sacrifices that are made (or at least if we did our homework we would) to be a trucker. I know from experience the repo man can and will come no matter where you work. They don't just show up because you're a trucker.

Well man.. I don't know ya that well.. Ya seem like the godfather here at this stop.. But I have to say.. I agree and disagree.. I myself wish central would stop training.. But it will never happen.. We just have to hope us established drivers get the better loads than the 2 week guys.. I consider myself a established driver because I'm on my 9th month.. Most people boot, scoot and boogie by now...

I just wish central would stop cuttin our pay and benefits because they hire 20 new people a week.. But central doesn't care about us.. Only that grant money they get from each student.. So let central bring in a million drivers.. By that time.. Ill be at a smaller and better job..after all... Central is for beginners

But I've also noticed here lately.. New drivers being very rude and acting as know everything in this world, alls... Stop and consider ya'll.. Maybe I'm not droping my trailer right where I stoped.. Maybe I'm doing something.. Or maybe I don't need you telling me that you and your volvo backed in much faster.. Maybe me and my w9 are just taking in the sights.. Whew.. That ends my ranting.. And trust me 1bad.. I feel where your commin from buddy....

Ya.. Once you get used to that turning radius.. You can get in most places.. I'm still kinda iffy on the caves in kansas city.. But I do know carthage, month caves can be done in a kw..

Wow.. That's what scared me about training.. I know I never screwed up that bad.. But I didn't freak my trainer out once or twice.. I want to pass my knowlage on.. But hopefully once I can train.. Ill have 5 or so years under my belt.. So I have a little knowlage.. Either way.. I'm just glad both the trainer and trainee are fine.. They are both truely blessed!!!

    IMO...

Contrary to whatever people believe, this job/lifestyle is not a solution to whatever problems exist for you as a wannabe driver. In fact it will most likely complicate whatever exists for you now.

Are you prepared to give up every luxury in your life? You will quickly redefine what a luxury is after 58 days on the road and the closest you've been to home is 1700mi.

Are you prepared for inconsistent income?

Are you prepared to spend 90% of your time alone?

When you do have downtime, it is generally somewhere you do not want to be. And when you are in an interesting area you don't have time to get away from the truck because you're tied to the load.

Nothing you can watch or read will fully prepare you for this job! But if you must watch something, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xAjiPlLaTg

Lol... I think if I had it painted on the side of mine.. Maybe people would leave me alone.. Everyone in their snubnose trucks just back in to fast.. That's how I'm gunna look at it..

On a diffrent note.. Those luxuries of home look awesome..even after a week.. I'd love to not have to walk a half mile to eat, shower or do other things.. I think everyone has the conception.. If they come here.. After a month or two.. They'll rake in a grand a month and be home every week.. Its far from that.. I've been out for 5 and a half weeks.. I'm going home for 2 days.. Then we'll be back out here for another 5 or 6..
