I always stop at Holy Smoke bbq on 395 in Bishop CA. I park behind the Von’s supermarket on Spruce St. It’s about 2 block walk. I then able to back to Von’s and get resupplied on other food/drink for the next week.

I see they do doughnuts, do they do fasnachts? It's an Amish potato doughnut. My wife loves the things, always tries to get them when we go visit family in PA. The lady she goes to is like 90, and only makes them 3 months out of the year. When she does she makes 2 or 3 thousand of them. They seem to be quite popular in the Lancaster PA area. Not sure about other Amish communities though.

Those of you that pass thru Lancaster, Bird in the Hand bakery I think it is. They used to do great baked goods, I think they still have the bakery open to the public. If they don't have truck parking, I recall there being a couple places that did nearby. They do a shoo-fly pie to. I'm a fan of their bear claws, and the wife likes the cream puffs.

It's been awhile since I've been to the actual bakery. We usually hit their stand at the Eastern York Market, in York, PA. Not a truck friendly parking lot, but if you can find parking nearby...worth it. Lots of local produce, baked goods, local food, local butchered meat, etc.

They have/had a restaurant on site, but the bakery is where the good stuff is.

    #### Amish, get me for a bunch of money whenever I end up visiting family. They do some great baked goods.

An I'm not even a huge sweets person.

If you're passing through Austin, MN on I-90, Exit 177 (US 218) Go north past the light, then turn west on 21st Ave NW. Park either at the Walmart (you're approaching the rear of the store here) or along the side of the road just before the curve. You will see "China Star" directly in front of you in the strip mall across the street. Excellent, especially if you like Seafood Delight, Hibachi Grill items, and Crab Rangoon. Next door is El Patron Mexican Restaurant. Good deals on the lunch menu, the fajitas are great, and the Chimi Lover's plate is to die for.

EDIT: I forgot to add if you turn right at the light instead of going through it to 21st, there is a Pizza Ranch a block up on the left. They have a good buffet, and their fried chicken is out of this world! The Runnings parking lot is attached, huge, and primarily empty. Its a friendly place to park, and there is a laundromat across the street (Wednesdays have specials, too).

In Albert Lea, I-35, exit 11. Turn west (away from the Petro and Love's). Turn right at the next light and park at the Walmart. Look directly across Blake Ave and you will see Taco King. Yes, its authentic (family emigrated from Chihuahua, CH, MX). Its surprisingly good for being this far north.

Get your meal at any of the above and you will be impressed. Then head on over to exit 179 to park overnight at the Kiwk Trip.

When I was working in Ohio the Amish would set up their food stand on the weekends. Best baked goods in the world. If I was off I'd make that 40 mile trip for the food then hit a Mexican joint next door

I can't tell. I found that pic on the internet, and it turns out that it was taken locally. That's US20, outside the KZ RV plant, near Shipshewana Indiana.

The cinnamon rolls could be a meal by themselves.
