I wanna get the pros and cons from drivers at Roehl, Warren, Swift etc....

I am in the Minneapolis area and don't trust the recruiters.

I am looking for best equipment/maintenance, most weekly hours without sitting, most days at home, and best pay.

I have several offers but don't know which is better than the next. Zero experience with any of these companies.

    Just an old farm boy.

    thanks

Welcome FL450, there seems to be pros and cons with all companies. You just have to sit down and compare what they all offer and which is the best for you. Just look at some of the threads on the companies you are looking at and you will get some good info. Imao Roehl may be the better of the three listed. Just do your research and get some info from the veteran drivers that you will hear from here and go from there. You can get some advice on companies and drivers that didnt go with big companies I think LavenderTrucker was one that can give you some good info on going with a o/o instead of a big company. Good Luck.

Does anyone have a break down showing pay rates, schedules and benefits comparing any of the major companies?

A nice PDF or spreadsheet with all the numbers by chance?

I am on lay off at my career and wanna drive for a couple years to make ends meet. Is there any one company that is better for noobs than others?

    I'll keep reading.

    Thanks.

I agree a PDF or spreadsheet with side by side stats would be very helpful in picking a company for new drivers.

alot of recruiters. mainly ones who hire new drivers, lie. and about 98% of what they tell you is lies. they may say, best equipment.. 40 cents a mile to start.. great miles.... but no, you usually make low pay, or what they do is you make say... 24 cents a mile. plus they pay ya, (usually dirt cheap) for switchs.. borders..if ya cross usa/canada.. unloads, pickups,...etc, and what they do is they add ur miles up, plus all the s/w..ul/p/u.. and they average it all out to make it look like 40 cents a mile. if ya know what i mean? i make 50 cents a mile. plus...!!! all that. but usually only average 800-900 miles a week.. as of now anyways.. just cuz of the way the economy is..etc

you will probably get the pits if youre new. there is probably afew companies out there that are good, for rooks.. but i dont know any.

Good morning and welcome to the forum Formula 1 and FL 450. I think Racefan pretty much told you what you need to know, at least for a place to start. I don't think you'll find any side-by-side comparisons so....dig in, weed through the good and the bad, take your time! And good luck!

The problem is you don't pick the companies . They pick you . Do some reading and see what responses members get when applying to carriers . When all is said and done you are lucky to get one or 2 offers to choose from . Or maybe not so lucky . The carriers giving you a chance will be the ones with the highest turnover .

Thanks for the info. I've read that from others also.

Do you usually get assigned one dispatcher?

Also how often do you switch or swap trucks?

How common are APUs and or inverters to run bunk heaters, food heaters, computers, etc...?

I have always had just one dispatcher.. unless he was sick or on vacation.. but some companys you will have more then one.
Most places you are assigned a tractor.. unless it is a slip seat company.. then you might get different tractor every day..
APU's are becoming common.. since most states have a anti idle laws now.. there was a nice post on here some where that showed the states an the idle laws..just do a search for it..
