Hey guys,
I have been in intermodal trucking for 5 years now. Last month I obtained my Trucking authority, registered with all rails and steamship lines. I run out of chicago IL. Now the biggest issue that Im having is finding consistent work. It isn’t as easy as dry van with shopping on load boards. Intermodal brokers reach out to me for quotes but rarely contact me back. can anyone point me in the right direction to receive consistent work? Any brokers or carriers with brokers that you know of? Any ideas or advice is greatly appreciated. God bless!

They aren't contacting you back because either your rates aren't competitive, you're too new for them or you don't have the capacity capability
rashad1918 and CAXPT Thank this. -
Call some of them back and ask. You might find one more than willing to share why you didn't win the bid (especially if its pricing, because he knows you'll be more likely to give him a cheaper bid in the future).CAXPT Thanks this. -
Hello my friend, could you give me some insight? So I have mc # for a couple of years pulling reefers and dry vans. I’m also located in Chicago. I have a family member that would like for me to pull containers and bring them to his warehouse for year round work. How do I register to pull these out of the railyards? Do i file any forms ? Do I need other insurance? Any help would be truly appreciated
