well I'm confused. Landline had a 1 hour interview the other day with the gurus at FMCSA and they said they were NOT assigning safety ratings to a driver only to the carriers. Landline asked about the point system for the drivers on their web site and FMCSA said that turns into a percentile thru some mathematical formular in case of a carrier audit. Also nothing will happen until 2011. I had heard JUNE/JULY of this year from some other web sites. I wish I had been able to tape that interview so us all could hear it

One thing that I have not seen talked about is: once the government starts to collect the data, it will become public. Right now the insurance industry has a better picture of the safety rating of trucking industry, and they for the most part keep it hidden. Once the government has a good data base up and running, the anti-trucking nuts will be using it against us.
I have one question, will the government be tracking the Canadian and Mexican companies also?
