I do think it’s BS. I see it in Ontario & Quebec using limiters to police the speed. It’s Daft meanwhile cars are flying past you like a bullet.

Sounds like they want to know if it will be better and legal for them to send the s s out to the home base of every truck with an ecu and put the program in within a quick time frame instead of trusting the individual to have it done somewhere else eventually.

It sure sounds like they are try to figure out how to do it rather than if to do it.

For anyone thinking they can get around putting one on. They could easily rule that the next registration could be denied until proof and verification of device installation was completed.

They tried this in the ‘70’s when the original 121 non-skid brake ruling went into effect. Thankfully it was stricken down in court back when the ata actually looked out for the whole industry.

I can't find anywhere any info as to what speed they would limit trucks, if the rule is passed.

I think it is crucial to know what speed would trucks be allowed to travel at to even have any practical discussion. If it is 85 mpg, while my truck is governed at 78 mph anyway, I can't say it concerns me much, practically speaking.... However, principally, it is a bad idea as it is ugly intrusive, at the very least.

Exactly, it is ridiculous to leave out that info.

Don't think they might not try that.. I don't put anything past this administration
They might even build concentration camps out in the desert and send drivers to the camps if they get caught speeding... they might even brand their forehead with a big S.. for speeder..
They also would like to put a swastika decal on the doors of each truck that they reprogrammed the ECM

W923, bzinger, SmallPackage and 2 others Thank this.

Most likely, they don't have a clue yet. No concrete statistical underlayment.

bzinger, TheLoadOut and Bean Jr. Thank this.

Why dont they ask if a bear craps in the woods? I mean, the questions they ask are about as relevant as if a bear craps in the woods.

But my first thought was. They only want comments on the questions they allow... not really what we think.

Because they don't want to deal with the repercussions when they tell everybody it's going to be 58 mph
Their not going to ask any question of any relevance... Because frankly they don't give a S.... what we think nor do they care
I've notice that all the members on here that defend the ELDs ..are pretty silent on this issue
I wonder why that is ???
