I'm under 5' 5" and I can reach the roll-up cloth handle using my 5th wheel pulller while standing on the floor of the trailer. OP could buy 2 or 3 sections of small diameter 2 or 3 foot PVC pipe plus connectors and make a custom, lightweight puller for $5.
I've noticed a lot of truck drivers want a device made only for trucks, sold only in truck stops, and used only by truck drivers or they think nothing exists for their problem.
What would be a good reach pole for Roll door trailers and pups.

I would just make something out of half-inch PVC pipe and pipe joints and a length of paracord. $5
Rebar is heavy and will rust. I'd use threaded rod in any length or aluminum rod or square stock from Lowes/Home Depot. Cheap, any length needed even if wanting to stand on the ground and reach a fully open roll-up door. -
Why not just use a strap???

I've seen home made 5th wheel pullers that were 5 or 6 feet long.buddyd157 Thanks this. -
"On the bigger side"?,,not for long,,
,,when climbing down after a non-dock delivery, I'd grab the strap. If you are a line haul, why would you even need to close the doors? Aren't they sealed? 5th wheel puller would work, no?
