2014 Cascadia with ~800k miles. It's been off the road for a year, sitting behind the garage (driver quit, and i didnt want to deal with having employees anymore). I kept it around because I've been scavenging tires n things off of it as they were going bad on my working 2016 Cascadia, and also because it's got a almost brand new $15,000 OneBox (which I will inevitably need at some point in my working truck). It's been started regularly but not moved.
The bad:
Needs all new drives, steers ain't great either
No bumper
Needs new batteries
Interior pretty beat up ( just dirty and dog hair, nothing gross)
Check engine light about def heaters
City horn stuck on
AC needs recharge
Miscellaneous air leaks
The good:
New ONEBOX!
Engine and 10 speed transmission strong
Has had lower bearings and overhead done
Newish radiator and air pump.
Except for the one box, I've already scavenged just about all I can from it on my own. I ain't doing an engine swap in my yard...
Should I sell, keep, or try to sell without the OneBox (the only thing I care about)? And what would be a fair price (with or without onebox)?
Should I sell my spare parts truck? Or keep it?

If you have the time, energy, and patience. Parting it out would probably bring the most return. The price of fairings, hood, doors are high. Engine, trans, rears, Probably a lot of other parts you’ll need in the future. I’d keep the drums if good, steering box, if only for a future core, if you have room. A future mishap at the Pilot, needing new hood, etc. Still collect insurance settlement, fixing yourself, or just keep whatever whole, selling, using parts as needed. So many Cascadias on the road, there’s a market for parts. Not to mention with current shortages, having parts available, even if only temporary, till new ones are available is a good reason to keep it. After selling, using parts, Scrap the frame. It all adds up. A friend of mine parted out a Cascadia he got in lieu of payment. Wasn’t happy at first. Ended up making out selling parts. Also, being a Mechanic made money installing what he sold. He said he couldn’t believe the money made on used parts. Enough to make him think about getting into Truck Salvage, He makes good money already running the Garage for a small fleet, that takes in extra jobs.

Also I'm on the road a lot and making good money, I'd rather sell the whole thing as a lump sum instead of scrapping it and getting dirty and wasting time when I could be making $1000 a day actually driving and chilling and listening to audiobooks.
Another problem is a lot of those parts ain't doing me any good if I break down on the other side of the country. The one box at least usually fails over time, so I will be able to make it home and replace that...
Somebody is offering me $10k for it as is without the onebox...bzinger, Boondock and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
