Appreciate your breakdown but I don't think the majority of O/O are paying 750/week for their truck AND only getting 5mpg @ $7.65/gal. Not saying they don't exist but I think your breakdown would benefit from assuming most O/O paying 750/week for a truck are probably getting closer to 6.5-7mpg in a <5 year old truck.
Edit, also that insurance rate is insane. 52x410=$21300. That might be the rate for a new brand new entrant in a place like Florida but I think the average is probably closer to 15-16k for a first year and significantly less once you get 2-3 years in.
Why you'll go Bankrupt hauling around $2 a mile loads

Total earnings $6690.
$6690 ÷ 2700 miles = $2.47 all miles, not $2.25 like you said.
Solely going by what you posted.
You deductions are $2067 total, which is about what you would be spending in fuel ALONE.
So you're telling me your business has ZERO other expenses?
No truck payment, no trailer payment, no insurance, no carrier deductions etc?
If you're gonna call BS don't come here with the most obvious bs post in this entire forum. -
Big Road Skateboard Thanks this.

Who said you're gonna get $4-$5 a mile at 75%
When everybody else running similar stuff can only do $2 a mile?
If we're gonna go to fairy tale land my $17 a mile is better than $4-$5 a mile
The point was giving an example running similar numbers.
Giving up a big percentage doesn't automatically mean you'll get the best loads of all time and the 90% guys are all dummies running the cheapest freight possible. -
Then what happens when you take time off or truck is the shop and the fixed costs keep rolling?
Stevens pays next to nothing but fixed costs would be lower.
Like you aren't paying for their trailer for one example, totally different type of operation you can't compare.
Still is horrible dealbumper Jack Thanks this. -
All these numbers are like politicized surveys. Skew em whichever way you want to make your point.
I'll deliver tomorrow morning for another 15k$ gross week on 3888 total miles.Last edited: Jun 5, 2022

I usually don’t post this stuff here because just like above someone will always say you’re lying about something. Here you go, 4087 miles. After percentage, after trailer rent, and after fuel has been deducted that’s 1.88 per mile to my truck. Revenue to my truck after their percentage was 2.53
dwells40 and bumper Jack Thank this. -
Don't see any insurance deductions there I and assume you own your truck already? -
Since there are a lot of posts breaking down expenses in this thread I guess I'll add to it. Purchased all my equipment and became an O/O with authority October 2021.
Truck 2017 t680 midroof isx15 - paid off
Trailer 2021 fontaine revolution flat - paid off
Insurance $10,200/year and gets paid in full to get the discount (was about 11.5 my first year if I remember correctly)
Accounting $1200/year (yeah, I'm an idiot)
Load board ITS $972/year
Truckers path, youtube premium, pandora, audible subscriptions $720/year
Tolls, average $4200/year
KeepTruckin ELD $280/year or near that I don't remember and don't feel like looking up the exact amount over +-50 bucks.
Government red tape/hut/piss test consortium etc $1800/year and again I don't remember the exact amount I pay for registration and everything else off the top of my head.
Maintenance and repair roughly $20000/year
So about $39372/year to run my operation not including fuel. I run about 120,000 miles a year and get about 6.5mpg. Probably missed a thing or two but my numbers will be pretty close for my operation. I should probably start working on my own truck more to get that cost down but I already eat and breath this #### so I've got to draw the line somewhere.
Edit: I intentionally didn't put my average rate per mile because it doesn't matter. Everybody's will be different.Last edited: Jun 5, 2022
