    Numbers are not fantasy land.

I can prove very easily these are realistic numbers.

Here is one from a job listing
    Pay:
    88% from gross

    Deductions
    Trailer: $250/week
    Cargo/Liability $335/ week
Samsara logbooks / camera / unlimited data tablet and mounts: $25/ week
    Occupational insurance: $45.00/ week
Ifta-$5/ week or optional if you have your own
PrePass/Ipass $5/ week + tolls or optional if you want to not use them.

total deductions: $655 + $10 in optional items

HIRING OWNER OPS Gross $7,000-$9,000 per week weekend at home!! -...

Those are carrier deductions, then you have truck insurance and then truck payment if you don't own one already.

    Throw one out there
    Truck rental starting at $3250

I have just demonstrated real world evidence of potential costs.

People showing up here with paid off trucks and other talking about being fleased on with Stevens transport saying they had less costs.
Well obviously those people will have less fixed costs because it's a different operation.
Example given in this thread is someone without owning a truck leased onto a higher paying percentage carrier which in general will carry higher weekly costs than other carriers with lower percentage or $1 a mile Stevens.

No situation is exactly the same.

If you purchased your equipment before 2021 you probably should have paid off gear by now. Or at least a paid off house or bulging bank account, something.
If rates crash across the board I think they can potentially stay lower for a long, long time as long as their are parts available. There has been so much money out here over the last 2 years there has to be more paid off equipment in service now than ever before.

Most people hauling for $2 a mile either have a paid off truck or doing Power only. My rates are from $2.25-2.40ish depending on FSC and Area. I Only pay $15 a week for Occupational insurance. $200 Month for Truck insurance, $20 for Bobtail, They pay my tolls and logs and Cargo / Liability and no Trailer fees. I Need to make $40 a day to pay Myself $1,000 a week which i can easily support my family and cover insurance. Oh and all my miles are paid Bobtail and all

You know, I'm not exactly certain when, but sometime during today, whilst reading this thread, I've forgotten my name.

Your total costs of running your business is just insurance and its only $200 a month. That's funny right there :headbang::occasion5::wav:

Who goes on CL and looks for people hiring owner ops? Wouldn’t you rather talk to someone who pulls for a decent company and then figure out how to get your foot in the door? Plenty of us have demonstrated “real world costs” but they don’t fit your narrative so you pull random CL ads from Chicago as your proof. Lol. It’s no secret who I pull for and if you run I-35 I’m sure you’ve seen the billboard out in front of the office, but you won’t make the call to hear it for yourself.

It was quick way to find a job postings to demonstrate these jobs exist being I was called out for being in fantasy land.

The "real world costs" people have been posting are those with paid off trucks, lower percentage pay carriers etc and using that to prove a point which is ridiculous.
Those carriers that cover more items will take more percentage.
You pay one way or another.
