I don’t buy into the bumper sticker slogans either but I will say this. The second amendment was never drawn up by the founding fathers for things like deer hunting and stuff like that. It really wasn’t even drawn up for the personal right to defend yourself. I’ll tell you why it was drawn up. Because the founding fathers knew human nature and they knew where the government would eventually try and lead back to…oppressing you tyranny etc.. Yes, the second amendment is so that the common every day hard-working American people can defend themselves against their own government if it becomes necessary. Or take back their country if it becomes necessary. So before you debate gun control You need to have that facts straight first. And yes, if the last couple of years haven’t shown you that there might come a time when we need to take back our country? I don’t know what will. Maybe you wanna lay down and give it up, I for one don’t. But that’s just me.
Gun control is not the American way!

Amendments have been changed in the past and it’s possible to see it happen again. Remember when they took your slaves away?
The founders also specified a process by which the Constitution may be amended, and since its ratification, the Constitution has been amended 27 times. In order to prevent arbitrary changes, the process for making amendments is quite onerous.gentleroger Thanks this. -
In some parts of the world, like Switzerland? Where gun ownership is ubiquitous but mass shootings aren't? I have no problem with teaching kids gun safety. I have problems selling a gun to someone who may or may not know how to safely use it. Just google "idiot at gun range". These are all people who are legally allowed to possess fire arms and they don't know thing one about using them safely. Or google "mom shot by kid".
As for gun dealers, besides Badger Guns, take a look at Westforth Sports. Look at how many violations of the law they've had and how many times they've been on 'probation'. If you were a gun dealer, and you were told NUMEROUS TIMES your guns were being used in crimes within 30 days, would you continue with business as usual?
As for the constitution, until VERY recently, the legislature, exeuctive, and judicial branches all had a very different interpretation of "well regulated". Please see Cheif Justice Burger's thoughts on the matter. -
246 mass shootings so far this year. Show me a country that has more. -
And how does the 2nd amendment start? "Well regulated".
As for how gun bans have worked, pretty gosh darn well in Chicago, execpt for the guns being brought in from Badger Guns and Westforth Sports. Maybe if the gun dealers stopped selling guns to obvious straw buyers, criminals wouldn't have easy access to them. -

246 so far this year. No other developed country even comes close. I've provided links supporting my position. If you want to refute it, then do so with evidence of your own. -

I honestly didn't think it was that hard a question to answer, but apparently it is.
I'm done until you can answer the question asked, but as this is now the fourth time asking, I highly doubt it.
