Freightliner up the road from the FCC drop yard had 15 trucks broken into this week. This was told to me by another truck driver, so likely that number is 7 but sheesh. My daycab has been there for 4 months waiting on a DEF sensor, if they got to mine I might as well stock the fridge in the road truck I’m using as a loaner and settle in.

For a real eye opener go on YouTube and search locked out of my Freightliner. I can open ANY newer Freightliner with the key I have from my last truck, and do it so fast most wouldn’t notice. Cheap Cheap trucks….

Last week crawling under my truck I noticed my front differential leaking, nothing major, but I hadn’t noticed it previously.

I know a guy who is a mechanic who just opened up a shop near Canton, Ohio. He was a certified diesel mechanic after he got out of the Navy, started driving for Landstar for awhile, got burned out, started a mobile repair business, and just recently transitioned into a permanent location.

I worked my way Into Ohio and had a scheduled appointment this morning at his shop. He had me in and out in 4.5 hours. I had him replace the fluid in the rear differential as well. He was beyond fair on the pricing, and I will definitely use him again. I would highly recommend him to any other owner operators, he’s about a week out on work, but as a former owner operator he isn’t trying to rob you. Fox truck and tractor repair In Canton, Ohio. I would rather support a small business owner like him Instead of some major corporation.

Delivered a load of tires this morning in Charlotte, usually takes about three hours to unload, so I dropped the trailer and ran across town to get my 120 day inspection knocked out, it was coming due in two weeks. No issues, the mechanic gave me a compliment on the upkeep of my truck. He said in the last month or so, he can already tell guys aren’t maintaining their trucks like they should due to rates coming down and fuel rising. It will only get worse, I’ve seen it before.

On a more negative note, passed a Loves and Pilot today in NC, the pump price is $6.15 a gallon. At this rate we will see $7.00 by Independence Day. #MERICA
