I have a dislike of that slippery stuff. OSB, or concrete forming plywood with the plastic on one side. Hauled lots of it at one time, we had to go 2500-2800mi with it. Glad it was under the tarps so we didn’t have to watch what was going on back there. You could screw that stuff to the deck and it’s still going to squirm around on you. I’m a little paranoid, I used to chain the front stack on both trailers.

Used every winch on the trailer, plus a few portables. Used to get this weird stuff, plywood with backer board and then fiberglass. Some sort of fire rated stuff. Went to schools and hospitals.

I got my fix of these for a couple months now, delivered one yesterday and went and loaded another one at a different place. Honestly 1 a month is plenty, 2 in a day is crazy. Atleast for me!!!

But @jmarc77 both of these were done with a 4 foot lumber tarp, maybe not perfect but certainly isn't getting wet, super tight with the bungee's so not ballooning from wind, and sure an the hell ain't falling off the trailer. Those are the main things to worry about. Gotta definitely use padding underneath the tarp otherwise it will be shredded.

Obviously tarped them both a little different but either way works...

You can see in the last picture on the left that guy had what looks to be a custom coil bag, it still has plenty of length on it to use on bigger coils, they are a local company in St.louis that hauls mainly all coils. If I had to guess they order the bags from Tri-city canvas in Granite City.

Looks like a fine tarp job to me. I'm currently in orientation and we were given an excellent demonstration yesterday on tarping coils with a steel tarp. One of the more experienced drivers who is in orientation with me (who is actually a rehire) told me he purchased a coil bag out of his own pocket and it was some of the best money he spent because he hauled so many coils.

IMG_20220606_133544544.jpg Back to hauling steel for a day or two. Couldn't get a good picture because the warehouse was so cramped lol one of those loads where you untarp inside in case other drivers know what they are looking at!

For those of us that only recognize that load as 2 coils: what’s the what on what it is?

Had to load this last minute load and deliver to a jobsite in Glens Falls. Then I get asked to move barriers on 87 on my way home…
And I thought I had the day off…
