Got my final 2 drops off in Prineville Oregon this morning. One at a new Apple data center and the other at the huge Facebook data center. Again, these dickwad planners were caught completely off guard as to my empty call showing up back at Richmond. I was dispatched on this load last Thursday, a week ago. Starting Monday I gave my daily eta’s, drove 4 700 mile days, 3 of those days were 700+ and 2 drops. I was empty within 30 minutes of when I told them. And here’s what I got when I called in an hour after sending in my empty call, “he just started looking for a load for you.” So, parked on the side of the road for 2 hours more, I finally get a load assignment. Deadhead to Portland, liveload, deliver 2am Wednesday morning in Allentown PA. So, because my hours are shot, I’m now forced to do a reset, leave Saturday morning and drive 4 700 mile days to get this load off. I might just call them Monday and tell them to repower this load. I have hometime starting next Friday, that’s far more important in my life then these paint brushes I’m picking up.

If I do remember correctly you are driving a Kenworth. How has it been working out for you?
I have a Freightliner and the shop had many electrical gremlins to get out…. I know Volvo had some also but I never heard nothing about Kenworth. -
There was a bit a year ago where it spent a month in a shop in Phoenix while they rebuilt the engine. And I have to routinely top off the reservoir with coolant about once every 2-3 weeks. Aside from that, though, it's been solid. Hoping they wait until we're buying new KWs again before they sell this one out from under me.Lonesome and Silverdriver Thank this. -

I spent several years in dispatch for Carolina Trailways, a union company. In Norfolk, Va there were over a hundred drivers, one thing I learned real fast, you do not treat every driver the same, the way most people think. You treat each driver according to their personality. Some drivers were always joking and "cutting up", others were all business, you met these drivers on their terms. Although the drivers were union and I had a contract to abide by, when you treat a man "on his grounds", you can get by with a hell of a lot.48Packard, Silverdriver, dwells40 and 2 others Thank this. -
Dropping this load at Richmond yard then doing a 34 over the weekend. My camera stayed on after that idiot brake checked me and won't go back off now so I called Paige in safety and found out I was on the list to have my camera replaced since I have an old one and it went on the fritz so Ill be having that replaced while at the Richmond yard.
