Oh geez, seems they have came down in price. I did have to buy the fuel cells, but two to a box for $18. Didn’t think it was hateful.

But I’m wondering what advantage air compressed ones have over a Paslode or battery operated one like DeWalt or Milwaukee.

I have developed a preference for Lowe's. Prefer the choices, workers seem more professional, and find the customers much less annoying.

Home Depot, though a couple miles closer, is third choice behind the local Lumber yard that has a huge Ace in it. They actually have 2 yards with Aces and 2 stand alone stores. The stores are built in old chain grocery stores.

Purchased the last 2 battery DeWalt tools from them, If they do not have it in stock they can usually get it on the next truck.

Got one of these from Lowe's when they (and Home depot) were running a "factory special" on them. Local Ace was not given the opportunity to run the special. https://www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-12-in-15-Amp-Dual-Bevel-Sliding-Compound-Miter-Saw/1000145735 Lowe's had it home depot was a week out.

It mostly comes down to production requirements as in nails per hour.

If you have a framing crew that all you see is britches and elbows. For them you want a big compressor and turn the crew loose with pneumatics. The battery powered may not be able to keep up with a good and FAST professional framer.

The battery powered ones are more common for less intense operations like repair, remodel, and small additions where setting up the compressor becomes too much of a time suck. Or you just don't want to subject folks to the sound of a compressor running all day.
