Most of that general knowledge stuff I had in my head from the 80's. My school was 218 hours. 36 days. It was good because my teachers were top notch. They corrected some bad habits I had acquired.

One of their recruiters came to the driving school I am attending and said that the OTR starting pay is 25cpm.

For flatbed, I was just told yesterday that start is 27cpm, with 3 or 4 increases during the 1st year, bringing it up to 32 cpm (I think, it might be 34). Tarp pay is $25. to tarp, $25. to un-tarp. 1st Company I've heard of that pays for un-tarping, if it's correct.

DonnyH, I am not sure right now about the length of time, but the way I understand it is you make payments to swift after you get on the road. After your tuition is paid they then they pay you back in payments for a certain length of time. It ends up making your training free after being with Swift a certain length of time. You are not obligated to work for them after completing the school, you are only obligated to pay for the school.
