$20k a week for 3 trucks. I tried watching that guys’ Tiktok videos but his math still doesn’t add up. If that’s his true fuel cost then what he’s stated on Tiktok as far as miles means his fuel cost is almost $1.50 per mile. He’s claiming to run 3 trucks about 900 miles per day hauling two rounds of milk at 105k gross weight, and the one rate he showed said around $1000 per load. If he’s running 900 miles for $2k at maxi weight loads then his business model wasn’t sustainable before fuel shot up. The easiest way to lose your rear is running maxi trucks for highway truck rates.

What do you figure mileage is on 105K, half full, half empty? Unless he’s got his foot in it all the time, he still should be above 6. So fuel costs closer to $1 a mile.

I would think they’d at least average in the 5’s even if they’re running around high 4’s when loaded.

The worst part about ag commodities is that rates always seem to be about a month behind the rise in fuel cost.

And your competition is a farmer owned truck that is just booking freight to keep the hired hand busy in the off season.
