Anybody know if we can still get in after hours to volvo?
I think last time I was there the button was messed up for the gate.

Get down to Jarratt to hook my load to Groveport and of course some idiot dropped it there with lights not working so I am now waiting for the trailer shop to open so I can get them fixed....I often wonder if these drivers just lie to officers if pulled for inspection and say " I don't know officer, they were working when I hooked it."

So, my load from Oregon that I’ve had since last Thursday, and was due at 2am this morning, was refused, because according to Sherwin Williams, I was late. My load assignment said 2am on the 15th, I planned this whole trip down to the minute that included a reset, paid for a parking spot at the Frystown J, drove 4 straight 700 mile days, just to be told it was due on the 14th at 2am. Then get back to the J and my paid spot was taken, along with every other spot. So I took a chance and drove to the Loves on 81 and at 1:45 this morning backed into the last available spot. Meanwhile, my preplan is now off the table, and I’m waiting on dispatch to figure out what they want me to do with these paint brushes. I’m relatively calm about this, for the moment. I’m actually hoping to hear who owns up to this mistake, because it sure as hell ain’t me.

Whoa……I had a knock down drag out yelling match with the load planner this morning when he said I was late with this load. I’m not going into a long drawn out dissertation about what happened, let’s just say that I refuse to look bad at someone else’s expense. When it was all said and done, it caused me to go over his head, and not to his immediate boss. But, at this moment, I’m on 2 days of layover with them trying to figure out what I’m going to do with this load. I offered to bring it to Richmond, Wytheville or the Swift yard down on 81 in Maryland. Meanwhile, I’ve been idling this truck all night and day, fueled up here at the Love's that the sign says $6.49 per gallon, and not giving a rats arse what this is costing the company.
The good thing about this high fuel and depressed rates is that it willcause this whole industry to downsize. Hopefully they can start with dead weight in the office, drivers that can’t pour water out of a boot with instruction printed on the bottom, and maybe getting rid of senior drivers like myself. This other job on the table is looking better and better every time there’s a screw up like this, which seems to be happening quite often.Rugerfan, MidWest_MacDaddy, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
