That's almost a twin to the first truck I ever drove. The one in the picture is prettier though and the front fenders match.

I guess it was a regional thing.
I never once parked in a line for gas.
    Never once

I was 10. I remember shoveling copious amounts of wet heavy snow. I remember not going to school for a week, three or four times, cause there was no gas to heat said school.

So we went out and shoveled walks and driveways and learned the value of entrepreneurial endeavors.

I remember that distinctly. Reagan was helping out the American dairy farmer. The county health department was across the street from my high school. You always knew when it was government cheese day. Cars were backed up for a mile.
Funny thing is alot of people complained about the lousy gov cheese. They didn't understand they where getting huge blocks of the really good stuff from the upper Midwest. My wifes family used to get it. She didn't complain. Till this day she still says it's the best cheese she ever had. We live in a pretty rural area. Everytime we drive past the health department building I ask her if she wants to stop and pick up some cheese. Lol

There was no gas shortage/lines in AK in 1973/4, until I came back to US....
Now I have infiltrated into the Liberal work force unbeknownst to them. You have to be careful not to use too much common sense since it could arouse suspicion of conservative thought patterns. It's a fine line.
