company Genting Hong Kong, went bust.
The bankruptcy administration is now seeking to try and resell some of the vessel’s systems and its engines, German cruise industry magazine An Bord reported, citing insolvency administrator Christoph Morgen. The ship’s unfinished hull, complete only in the lower area, will be sold for scrap afterwards. -
IIRC I think Genting is the same company that had one of its other cruise ships seized by the US for its failure to pay their fuel bills. Bunker fuel/fuel oil ain’t cheap!

I always thought the 700 people on my last ship in the Navy was way too crowded. I can't imagine being stuck on a ship with 9,000 other people. Get in line for breakfast. by the time you get thru with that food, time to get back in line for lunch. Rinse and repeat for each meal.
No thanks. Not my idea of a vacation.Saltyoldone, God prefers Diesels, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
That's a ton of people. I also saw a couple of USN Carriers sold to scrappers for $1. USS Kitty Hawk was one of them IIRC. Would gave rather seen them kept as museums.
