Forgive my girl for being dirty. It's been a busy couple of weeks. I did get her washed and detailed today.

Strange container

 

Yeah sometimes I think the engineers just get bored and want to make something overly complicated. A big square box would have accomplished the same thing. Weight might have been a concern though. The piece weighs over 30k empty.

 

The same engineers that overlooked securement points.

 

The same engineers that decide where to put the oil filter on your new car.

 

On mine they did good. It's on top of the engine. A drop in paper filter in a screw off plastic housing. Lol.... German engineering

 

It was easy to get at on my LS Chevy. Just too bad the dip####s put the drain plug aimed directly out the side. Changing oil hot it'd shoot straight into the bottom of the tire and splatter everywhere. I quickly learned to hold the pan up to catch it, then follow it back to the drain hole in the oil pan as it lost head pressure.

 

Love the typical location of those but really wonder if they do a good enough job filtering. I mean those plastics canisters are so chinsy I can’t imagine they seal to the ends of the filter very well and was always scared they would break after years of hot oil. Oh well I don’t have anything that new so I will wait for an update from someone who does
