Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

I do like to respond to those while I’m in the bathroom or having a beer or six with nothing else to do, I’ll never get one, not do I really care, but Atleast let them know.

I still enter (perfectly reasonable) bids to TQL, XPO, and JB Hunt if only for the satisfaction of putting milli-cent drains on their electric bills. And not for much else. Because in my first 5 months as a new O/O, not once have any of these three ever made a single serious reply. Which leads me to wonder, exactly what kind of owner does do business with these bottom dwellers?

 

I hauled a good load for XPO last week. TQL posted rates are cheap, but i've hauled 2 or 3 for them. At least when i've done em, i was able to do way over posted rate.

Never did a JB Hunt. Have no desire

 

We do XPO's on what I consider to be shuttle runs ( between 200 and 300 miles ).

Usually chemicals. They pay alright. They typically have it together with appointments too. That also has value.

 

600 miles for 1k .

2 years ago I was getting 1800 on 600 miles round trip miles hauling rocks in montana when fuel was less than 3 dollar a gallon... 3 loads a week plus some other short hauls mixed in.

that rate barely covers fuel anymore.

 

Hmmm now ya got me thinking where that's at. I definitely seen it before. Maybe somewhere out on Hwy 200?
