It might happen with someone incompetent behind the wheel like this guy clearly was. I manage to get an 80’ foot rig in and out of the same dealer many times a week without hitting anything. I also wait to pull in the unloading spot if another rig is already occupying the space.

I’m thinking of Auto Parts Expediters, and oil Hot shots. I’ve often considered buying a 7 car ez loader. Considering where I live, but I’ve seen the bottom fall out of that also. Niche is nice to have, till it’s dead. It may be the exception right now, but typically includes a lot of Deadhead, or waiting for a load.

I've seen enough of his stuff on the old YouTube to not be a little surprised either.

I'd reckon part of the reason it's dead over here is exactly this. You asked a question, & got a dozen mocking comments. More than likely, by folks with 0 hotshot trucking experience..

As for your fuel bill are you using a fuel card (nastc), or even the mudflap app.? I use both, whichever is cheaper. Looks like you're averaging about 75 cents per mile fuel cost. You should be able to reign that # in some. I'm about 70 cents per mile in fuel, & averaged 6.75 mpg for 2nd quarter.. (Roughly, need to file ifta yet but I'm usually within .1-.2)

I shutdown completely 2 weeks ago. Truck is up for sale.
Insurance went up, shop labor and parts went up, fuel is outrageous and brokers don't want to budge from their already too low rates.
If truck doesn't sell I might return if things get better. If truck sells I'm going to the casino...

For now picked up a comfy local job to pass the time.

Dang, I'm sorry to hear this, but understand the decision..

Always admire your ideas and innovation, especially having a custom Cascadia car hauler built. Deviation from the norm, but bold & seemed to be working well for ya..

If you do end up in that casino, don't let the house get it all!! Knock em' dead partner.!
