Hey everyone,
Had a question. Wondering if anyone knows where I could view wiring diagram or find the reverse light wire for my truck. 1999 International 8100 with the Cummins M11 and Meritor RMX10-135a 10 speed. This truck was modified and a toter truck bed was put on the back which is the way it is now. The lights are in the body but I cannot find any connectors for it. And I went to the wire box that was put in to run all the lights back to the body but I cannot find any wire that lights up with my test light when in reverse. So not sure how to find this wire. I only found 2 switches on the tranny. One that is right behind the shifter but is power hot when truck key is on and then other one is the one for either rpm or speedo at the output shaft. Not sure where to go from here. Need to take care of this because I was DOT'd the other day and that's the only thing they found and my lease company wants it done ASAP.

The one behind the shift tower is your reverse lights. Run a new wire from the one that is not hot with key on to your reverse lights,or look for the broken wire. Easy fix.
LameMule Thanks this. -
Coover, Freddy57, JSanborn103 and 2 others Thank this.

Most transmissions I've seen have a single wire connector off the top of the housing near the shift tower. If you look up your transmissions model you'll know exactly where the reverse switch is located and you can run a new wire.

Ok thanks. Not sure what I triggered but I will replace that wire on the "transmission".

Merritor might be different than Eaton for reverse light switch location.
Some trucks never even had that switch installed from factory believe it or not.LameMule Thanks this. -
I've heard of guys just wiring up floodlights to a switch in the cab and calling it their reverse lights. He could always do that. -
The tranny identifies as a 1999 international? Genders just keep getting more and more confusing
Kyle G. Thanks this.
