If its like us in portland, We cant get rail cars in to our fill station to unload. BNSF says they dont have enough crews to run the trains. We have 10 cars scattered around Portland and no one can give us a clue on what is going on. I have missed 3 days of work in the past 2 weeks, worked under 6 hours multiple days. Even today, I only worked 5.12 hours. If it wasn't for my 8 hours of pay guarantee, I would have quit a while ago. I'm touching up my resume on indeed even now. I honestly dont know what to do at this point.

    It's like that everywhere.
    Can't get brass hammers..supply chain.
    Can't get truck shocks..supply chain.
    Can't get drivers..supply chain.
They've printed up referral cards for us to give out to anyone basically, and it pays me 2500 bucks in 2 checks..

    Yup.

I'm old so I ain't goin nowhere but to the park bench to feed pigeons.lol
I do wish guys who drive and are always job hoping remember that there are jobs out here that don't require it to be a lifestyle.
When I started in 1974 it kinda was. Yeah there were local gigs but OTR paid good and you had the freedom to run as you saw fit. Not today.

Now tell a guy you can do 8 yrs here and make a million they still don't want to work...lol

We're in the same situation with argon. Our supplier says they have railcars full sitting just a few miles away, but they can't get the railroad to pull their empties off their siding and bring the loaded ones in. We've been rationing argon to our customers. Right now we can't buy CO2 anywhere in California, so we're going 2 states away, paying a higher price for the product and begging our customers to conserve.

The summer before last we were ordering a second truck and I begged for a sleeper. I think they're happy that they listened to me now!

According to my boss, the CO2 problem is nationwide. He says scuttlebutt has it that a large Coca Cola bottler in Michigan got cut back to one load of CO2 per day and is laying off half their workers. Good thing I'm a Diet Pepsi guy lol!

Based on the feedback/info above....and at the risk of sounding a bit petty....what's the situation with the availability of liquid nitrogen?

    Same thing?

    Or any better?

Or are things there pretty much "normal"?

The raw material is free, the capacity remains the same it's just that transportation, drivers, warehouses, companies that use the product are not back up to pre covid levels

    @Dennixx --

Soooooooooo...if I understand you correctly....what you're saying is that.....for liquid nitrogen....things on the "supply side" are basically ok....but on the "demand/delivery side"....things are not quite back up to speed, post-covid? :(

    If otherwise--please clarify.....:D
