It amazes me how many experienced drivers don't ask many of the questions that I find essential to ask. I can understand someone coming in green and not asking some of those questions, but I have 0 understanding for an experienced driver not asking all of those essential questions.

I love it when someone asks a lot of questions. It means not only are they serious, but they are coming in with their eyes wide open and are likely a good long-term fit.

@Riotside -- "Is Prime really that bad?"......

    • The only "boxes" they pull are reefers. No dry van. Depending on your perspective--this can be a bad thing.
    • Their tanker fleet is small. Also--they really want you to pull boxes for at least a year, before going over to tanker. Getting a trainer for tanker duty can be a long wait. Most of the tanker runs are (bleeeecccch!!!) up in the northeast.
    • They have been known to push that lease thing a bit too hard.
    • Very few terminals and dropyards, compared to other larger carriers.
    What's good about Prime?

I gather their training is some of the best out there, for new drivers.

They do have a flatbed division, for those who may want to go that route, no?

Not sure which Prime thread to post this on. One of Prime's drivers and biggest (Prime) YouTubers/cheerleaders quit Prime about a month ago. She was die hard, Prime until retirement type. If she quit, you know Prime has to be doing something wrong. I know they put those driver facing cameras in, I wonder how many drivers have quit because of that.

I left there two years ago and honestly it didn't seem like they were headed in the direction of cameras at the time.

Kearsey leaving the company surprises me too, she was one of the biggest Prime cheerleaders and I think she might have actually moved to Springfield because of the company. She was a longtime company driver and would make videos comparing company and lease settlements. Things must have really gone downhill.
