From K-Falls east or Southeast Take OR-39 South or East to CA border, where the road name changes to CA 139. Take CA 139 South/East to CA 299 East/North to Alturas, CA. Take CA/US 395 South to Susanville, CA and US 395 South to Reno I-80. I've done this route several times. I also obey the CA speed limit or do only 4 over. There are very few places to stop once you leave Klamath Falls. Consult Trucker Path for those spots.
Leaving Klamath Falls you can take OR 140 East to Lakeview, OR. At Lakeview, OR you have to take US 395 South. No truck from Lakeview, OR going east on 140. US-395 South to Reno to I-80. I've never done this route. I cannot vouch for that short section of OR140 east of K-Falls going over Bly mountain. But tripcheck.com shows it OK and the atlas doesn't show it closed to trucks.
Where in OK?Flat Earth Trucker, Big Road Skateboard and rockeee Thank this. -
Same here. It's a nice peaceful ride 39/139. Never had an issue with CHP. Have been on 140 but don't remember much except I don't think it's quite as easy of a drive as the south route.

The only CHP I've seen in that trip is near Reno, before you get to the 4 lane and I-80. Also, CHP is south of Susanville, CA. Just as you get south of Susanville there is a Valero on the right with parking on the shoulder past the store. There is a small rest area further south on the Northbound side. The idiots in cars will try passing no matter what lines are painted or what traffic is coming toward them.

Like @tscottme mentioned, 140 has a 65ft length limit from Adel to the NV border. The worst stretch of 140 in the canyon from Lakeview to Adel isn’t restricted because there’s a cattle feed yard in Adel. There’s a decent pull up out of the valley east of Adel but it’s mostly a good road. I’m not telling you to break the law, but I ran it probably a dozen times hauling cattle and didn’t get caught. East of Adel is nothing but high desert.

So, found this video. Looks like i'll be taking that California route.

You’d be going up that out of the valley since you’re going east.
