You'll have 3 types of people that use self service.
#1 the people that will destroy the place. Power wash the grease off the fifth wheel or wash a ton of dirt out of the box on their dump truck.
#2 the ideal customer. Uses the wash as you should and doesn't take hours.
#3 the guy that takes good care of the wash and his equipment but takes hours to wash. Will run the timer only when needed.
He also won't use it when after guy #1

So true. A nice change of pace indeed. I'd even pay by the minute like a car wash does.

It's not about saving money for me. It's about doing an extremely thorough job with nothing missed. All the truck washes always miss spots, won't do areas I want done like inside of the frame rails or are careless with the acid. I don't care about my paint. It's dead. However, I do care about rust and corrosion but the worst places that stuff hides when mixed with salt in the Winter none of these places ever touch.

Long wands are a necessity for reaching tall areas of a very large truck and trailer. Also, nobody wants to get soaked from the spray (especially in the Winter) while washing their equipment. Long wands are where it's at. I wouldn't use a short one at all. Even just doing the wheels with one would suck.

That's understandable. In the initial post I did mention platforms to get those tall and hard to reach places but best of both worlds and go long wands too

If they were all across the country like Beacon I think many of us would wash more often and maintain a clean truck rather than wash a dirty one
I know I’d spend $40 or so for a quick wash 3x a week rather than $100+++ once

If I washed a truck and hit rain etc the same day I’d have no problem running in again the next day

Would you go brushless if there was a soap that could get your truck 90-95% clean saving you time and labor?
Do you know if dump truck owners or those that typically bring in tons of mud ie cement or oil field trucks even care about soap or just lots of water to rinse it off?

I used to do mine occasionally. Good for a quick rinse, or for degreasing undercarriage. Every time I did a thorough wash on Cab /engine only, I’ve regretted it. End up spending just as much or more than Blue Beacon. Always end up wet, greasy, sweaty, and tired. Lol.
