Well rates a REALLY crashing now. Like they've gone clear to the magma that's being cooled prematurely do to wind turbines.

You'd probably have better luck then by spending more time looking for freight and less time here on your never ending fat girl fit.

What if i told u you. U might net more than that lowboy at the end of the week.. Yeah lowboys make way higher gross than anybody else.. But it aint about how much money u make its about how much money u keep... And there is a #### ton more expenses on a 7+ axle...plus freight for that trailer is not readily available like it is for dry van.

When freight gets soft, just book power only loads and load the drive van onto the low boy. Problem solved.

I don't think rates being "soft" is the primary concern.

Rates would be fine if the costs of what it takes to operate and replace the truck weren't so high.

Has anyone researched what impact the current recession is having on the driver shortage?

Haven't seen an article on any of the esteemed trucking publications for awhile.

There is no recession and if there is it's temporary.
We have the greatest economy ever.
    Fuel is down.
We have a President that was a truck driver.

Hard to say what’s really going on. I don’t think anyone knows. Only strong opinions. I’m currently getting jerked around on detention. Lousy $250. Holding up my billing department. Myself, Lol. Meanwhile Land Youknowwho is asking for paperwork that doesn’t exist. The Load cancelled, and they stiffed me on TONU. Looks like they paid the Agent, who was in the Ukraine. Lol. This may just be coincidence, but may be a growing trend. Bad business practices usually result in bad results. I won’t pull for them again, and one day when I’m bored, and feeling vindictive, I’ll book a load, then cancell at the last minute. Telling them I was just notified they owe me money. I’ve done it before. What goes around comes around. Others are being picky, saying I haven’t pulled enough loads recently. I heard less than 10 loads in 3 mos. Sorry!! I explained I have pulled many loads for them over the years, maybe 30-40. I have a total 1925 loads delivered in 18 yrs without a single claim. They’re going to give it to someone with less experience , and a higher claim history. Oh well, I’m looking for no BS folks to work with. they’re out there. My no load list from 13 yrs ago still holds, and is growing. No amount of money will make me haul for them, along with a few others that showed their true colors when things were real tight. There’s no end to available freight, it changes constantly. Doesn’t pay to be greedy and short sighted. The best always end up surviving. Lot of weeding out to be done. Once it’s thinned out, the same ones will be begging for a Truck.
