Please spare us this garbage. We all have skin in the game out here in one way or another. Guy had a preventable accident...everyone has!

U have no skin in the game as a company driver. If someone backs up into your truck your company puts u in a different truck until yours is fixed. Costing you no money at all. Someone who owns the truck doesn't have that option and this can cost them 10s of thousands of dollars in downtime plus repair costs

So a Swift guy gets his hood torn off while he's parked. He's down for maybe a day or 2 at most while Swift gets him a new truck and he's most likely paid for that time in some way. A guy like Mr. Tibbitt gets his hood ripped off and he's down for a month or more while the dip#### who was too stupid to use his mirrors just aimlessly drives on.

How long does it take to get "just a mirror" replaced? Probably a week or longer these days. A single truck operator loses big time over "just a mirror."

You are very closed minded. This statement of yours is false.

Then become a company driver. Make more money, better benefits, paid vacation, 401k match, bonuses, great health insurance, no worries about torn up equipment. Sounds better...doesn't it?

It's crazy that's such a hard concept to grasp. I bet these guys are head of the safety department for some mega company :biggrin_25523:
