well, thats the way it has always been around here too, they will push us back sometimes, but this is the first year i can remember hauling it in early, heck,i took some in for a farmer 2 weeks ago and it was march delivery too,i wonder if they are sending it down the river that fast,it don't make sence to me though, the price was down last week,so i can't figure it out:biggrin_25526:

I'm glad you boys are sunny it's been foggy here all day. 27* out. Maybe they are getting rid of corn early cause they think the price is going to go down more. Farmers I haul for don't have any storage.

    dairyman Thanks this.

I bet your right, wheathauler. the 2 farmers that i have hauled it in early for are small operations like us,so i bet it's a storage issue. Your a wealth of info:biggrin_25514:,thanks,iv'e been puzzleing over that for 2 weeks, but i bet that's it:biggrin_25525:

Logan76, personally,i like the idea of truck and end dump over tri-axle,i think it will open up more options for ya IMHO,but it is pretty rough out here right now,i don't know much about west PA,other than i don't like what i hear about the roads and tolls:biggrin_25513:,i have some friends that haul coal in eastern KY and they are doing ok,but its like anything else in truckin right now,if you can survive the fuel $ and the rate cuttin, you are ahead of the game LOL. As far as dirt hauling goes,i would lean more towards the tri-axle but if your going to haul a lot of that around here, you need to have a good relationship with a contractor and your banker, but mostly with your fiance':biggrin_2559:.I would agree with Big John and Wheathauler though, its a good time to buy a truck, but unless i had some firm contacts with some folks that you trust to keep you busy (at a profit) i might would just hold on to my cash, but thats just my opinion and it ain't worth much,GOOD LUCK with whatever you decide to do

Got a question for you guys, I am gonna ask here before I put it in the 18 wheelers section.

My cummins has sprung a coolant leak. I "believe" whats leaking is the clutch fan solenoid (if that's what the part really is???) not 100% sure.

Directly behind the alternator attached to the block is where this solenoid looking thing sits. There are two plugs with a total of five wires, and two coolant lines attached to the unit. I haven't bothered to track the lines yet, its too cold, and the truck has a snow bank blown up against it currently!

Shortly after I purchased the truck I had the clutch fan rebuilt, and supposedly the shop replaced the clutch fan solenoid as well. So... I am guessing the replacement was a failure. Any idea how much a new solenoid costs?

Oh, and as long as I am asking. Any where to get some decent schematics of all the sensors and assemblies on that engine? That would be a real plus to figuring out where everything lives under that hood.

Not yet, going to do some calling around.

Wish I could help Kansas don't know much about cummins. Sounds like you may have found the leak. Could be water pump too...not sure where they are at on cummins. You're right its cold out. Good Luck
