A really simple reason for 20k on a single axle... DUMP TRUCK, no trailer needed... You put ALOT of weight on your steers in a dump. Steer tire blowouts take on a whole new meaning when you pack that much weight forward.

If you have a long dump bed and only one lift axle you can easily exceed that 20k single axle weight -
20k steer, 20k tag, 52k rears
74,000 lbs empty. Have to be permitted just to drive the thing around with 37,000 on the tandems empty. lol -

Load up the steer. I believe I permitted my heavy 3axle with my 3/3/2 for 18000 or 18500 - can’t remember the number exactly
