I admire your optimism and forward thinking, and I'm also glad that I will be out of it before then!

 

It’s going to happen, people will figure out a way to work with it once they realize the technology will be here to stay. Even now when you order a new truck it’s worth more points for the greenhouse gas stuff if you get lane departure and adaptive cruise. Both of which will be standard sometime coming up anyway.

I’m 45 and been doing this crap since I was 18 so who knows how much longer I’ll want to be in it. But if I am still plugging away when all this comes about if it makes sense to use the technology to my advantage instead of complaining about it then that’s the way I’ll go. But hopefully by that time I’ll just be camping and riding my bike all the time.

The app would effectively still be a broker, in a sense, because shippers will never want to go back to needing their own traffic departments again. There would have to be a way to verify insurance and such. So you sign up for whatever app because you’re tired of dealing with human brokers. And that app will be programmed to “negotiate” like a human broker. Would probably start out with a low book now rate and go from there. I imagine the interaction would be about the same only you’d be messaging an automated system instead of a person.

 

Robo app to negotiate a load with a Robo broker to haul on a Robo truck. Hauling containers out of a Robo port. NO human interaction required.
Sounds like a Sci-Fi movie.
