That's where he's at his best.
He did sneak in that 300 page comment though and noone called him out @Kenworth6969

Your way of wrapped and heat shrunk to avoid tarpping then hey i dont have to charge for tarping and kill a bunch of time.
So why isnt this being done everywhere?
Id much rather be going down the road instead of tarping and having to charge a bunch of money for it.
I tell brokers time lost messing around with tarps is time lost i could be going down the road so it aint cheap.
Giving some fantasy examples is one thing, reality is another. Easy to say hey robot trucks are going to take our jobs when in reality a tesla on auto pilot is still crashing into things and sadly running over motorcyclists.
Things are not so simple as they sound in theory.Last edited: Aug 11, 2022

I think truck prices are about to crash faster than the rates.

Opendeck containers are the same way. They don’t use straps, they use bands. And anything that needs protected from the weather is plastic wrapped. When I was in Hawaii we’d deliver flat deck containers from the port. They’d come from who knows where in WA and ride the boat from Tacoma and we’d get them the plastic was still intact and the bands were tight.
As for why they don’t do it for everything, my guess is time and cost. Seeing how long it took them to do a rail car in Missoula it would really only be realistic for drop and hook operations.God prefers Diesels, D.Tibbitt, Brettj3876 and 1 other person Thank this. -

No idea what this is, but it’s wrapped and secured with banding similar to what I was talking about.God prefers Diesels and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
@Kenworth6969 wouldn’t be hard to use a pressure sensor on flat bed to detect strap tension. Hell even a system installed on a flatbed can warn drivers that a strap is loose.
wait and see at the end of this recession if more and more politicians arnt advocating for driverless trucks.
Gooberment isn’t willing to tell Tesla to stop using their autopilot even with the crashes. Knowing full well that it needs to be tested on roads and is coming. Neither political group has even tried to stop autonomous vehicle development.
that should tell you something.dwells40, God prefers Diesels, D.Tibbitt and 3 others Thank this. -
