"Baudelaire was cited for driving on a closed roadway and failure to control his vehicle."
Why wasn't he cited for being to stupid to breathe air?

    Certainly should have been

there’s a historic covered bridge near me that’s still has traffic over it and despite multiple signs and flashing lights and the dangling pipe things , it got smacked and damaged by trucks every week , the county installed a large steel beam just in front of the bridge .
The steel beam is a breakaway hinge design so when they hit it , it folds forward and hooks the roof and wind shield of the truck ,
It prevents the truck from even getting to the bridge , and Usually totals the truck .Which is the best outcome .

    Stupid should hurt .

Ayup, theres a small old stone arch bridge near where i live that is marked 12'8" and it also has a weight limit of 19 tons. I often take that road because my rig is 12'5" and only 17 tons empty and i know i fit even in winter plus it saves me a good 30 minutes on the way home. Local PD knows about it and doesnt care because i fit and am a local.

We have construction right now and currently 2 or 3 trucks a week are getting caught under it because they dont follow the detour and stay on pavement rather then the dirt road that is the actual detour and ignore the local trucks only sign.

You’d think that any adult would be able to look at the curve and bridge and determine instantly that there is no way a 53 foot trailer is gonna make that curve .

but clearly there are plenty of idiots in driving jobs nowadays .
