I don't mind at all, in fact I want to be with a trainer for good training, as long as I am not in the upper bunk with the truck moving. Ideal is the situation where one sleep in truck the other in a motel during training.

Thank you. What did you mean they tried to over dose your dog? What happened there? I with dogs and cats had special protections and where not legally just considered to be personal property, which I believe they are. I hope whomever did that to your dog was brought to justice in some way.

After emergency surgery they kept him on very high dose of drugs so they did not have to deal with him. After the second day they came back and said he had damage to kidneys. Had no damage prior to surgery per the blood test. I yanked him out of that hospital the next day after I found another place that could take care of him while healing. Broke my heart as he almost pasted at that time. He had appendicitis and they could not diagnosis it for some reason. Charged me well over 7K all in. Was all about the money and they seen someone who cared about the pet and took advantage of them. This was Bear after the surgery on 2nd or 3rd day. I am really sorry about Bear the poor thing. You prompt actions yes most likely bought him more time with you. I agree a pet owner has to be vigilant. I have had several emergency situations with my dogs over the years. Some people probably think we are crazy to put so much money and emotion into our pets but they really do bring so much to our lives.

Perhaps I am jaded / have a biased viewpoint because I spent 18 years as a Sworn Peace Officer. That said - everyone deserves a second chance to demonstrate they can live by the rules of a civilized society.

When I ran a small expediting company, I was very felon-friendly. Why? They *wanted* to work if just given the chance. I was offering an opportunity to make well over minimum wage (all they could find elsewhere) as long as they took care of their PO/supervision requirements, got their travel docs in order, and took care of the equipment. They were always shocked to find that I provided satellite radio on top of everything else, and that they could easily make $60k+ driving a van around the country (this was several years ago, adjusted for inflation it would be $75k today). I also made sure they would be routed home in time for any required meetings with court-ordered supervision.

The only problem I ever ran across was when the CHP found out a driver was a felon, they would toss the van and make him clean it up on the side of the road (more than once). That was completely uncalled for. Otherwise, they took better care of the equipment and were really appreciative of the opportunity to provide for their families.

Best thing about a guy coming out of prison is you can tell where their head is. I was one of those guys over 20 years ago. I got hired at a company and worked my butt off and became the production manager of that company. Worked almost 15 years at that place until they closed down. Still to this day the owner is one of my best friends and is one of the guys that roots for me on everything I have ever done. Some people are worth the help and some people are not. Glad I found one of the few people that helped me become a better man.

Update - I forgot to give an update here. I have been working and training at a Ready Mix Concrete plant for just over 2 weeks now. My trainer has been awesome and I have learned a lot. The hours are long but I am making some money and the training I have been receiving has been so valuable.
