You know were I live. I caught a 15 over. Court accidentally entered a 20 over. It has since been straighted out. Same insurance company. Agent lady told me "Ah don't get another for awhile, that could be a problem".

Can't believe how scared everyone is from working. 135 bucks and 2 points on a clean license wasn't worth calling a lawyer. Just pled no contest. Ill be found guilty before I pled guilty.

I’m sure you’ve been to court during your pass enforcement year’s, just wanted to see if you could add to this thread in cases you showed up in court for excessive speeding, did judges reduce the fine or speed….. etc….

Hope you didn’t have to dig into the car wash cash to cover that. Washing re-entry burns off by hand has to suck.

In VA, there is a little catch. Any speed in excess of 80 mph is prima facie evidence of reckless driving. *That's* where the 10-over bit comes from, it was 15-over until the limits were raised to 70. They just never changed the statutory speed for Reckless driving.

Idk if they changed the signs or not or maybe im mis-understanding you, but, they changed the speed to 85 instead of 80 back in 2020.

Interesting. I haven't been back to VA in over a decade. I actually used to live there in the 90s-early 2000s, and I couldn't wait to leave because of their crazy driving laws and taxation structure.

I live in Virginia and honestly, the two taxes that anger me is their PPT and the dine-in tax charged in restaurants.

    Nailed it. PPT.

I am a vehicle collector and I generally tend to have different vehicles for different purposes. Pickup for pickup things. Medium Flatbed for hauling. Classic car for cruising. Motorcycle for therapy. Commuter car for economy. SUV for family trips. RV for vacations. Trailer for classic car. Enclosed trailer for taking bike behind the RV. 4x4 for 4xFUN.

VA would be so deep in my pockets twice every year, I'd be bankrupt.

My daughter is going to title and register her new vehicle in her Husbands state of record. Has not been done just yet. The PPT is one of the reasons. Tax rates are MUCH lower there. She can legally do this as well as change her driver's license now because of her husband being in the Army. He is taking leave before they PCS to Tenn to do just that.
