Still no IFTA tags in the mail, so I went down to their office to see what was up..

According to the guy at the desk, they have 13,000 applications they are sorting through & another 20,000 that haven't even applied yet. He said I need to go dig out the cancelled check & bring that back in so they can search through the piles to get the stickers & paperwork.:banghead:

Oh & this delay is all because the highly coordinated state of IL is implementing a new computer system to track any other outstanding debts you may owe, so they can hold your tags hostage.

LBZ, that's just ridiculous. I can't believe that they expect you to run without them, after you have paid for them.

Our state isn't so great either, we got someone elses cab card in the mail the other day. Nice, huh? It just gets better and better, we are paying for incompetence. :biggrin_2552:

The funny part is, you have to pay to try to be/stay legal & they still don't allow it. Yet they set up programs for illegals to work. What gives? ;) <~Sorry, couldn't resist.

You should photo copy the mailing & the wrong cab card to show the DOT when inspections roll around, because oddly, they treat us like we are the only people on the face of the planet that could make a mistake.

Yeah, I know. Well, thankfully we did get our cab card. But it took a few days longer. I spoke with the guys wife on the phone about their cab card, looked up their number under their DOT number and called them. Told her that I would mail it directly to them, as I didn't trust it going back to the state. LOL She had it the next day, thank god.

Because our company names were similar, they changed theirs to go to our PO box, not ours. And I included our state carrier number on the communication about the address change.

here in tn you can't renew your ifta if your tags are past due for renewal. you can't renew your tags if you have any reports or money outstanding for ifta.

I think when I finally got mine, it said you had a grace period until the end of Feb to display them. Gotta love our wonderful IL government! New comptuer system.....they're probably spending a dollar to save a nickel.

Heard this afternoon there is a gunman inside the Farm King (farm and home store) in Macomb, 25 miles north of here. According to the 5 pm news, he's still inside, store is surrounded by police. Dad was headed south this afternoon on Rt. 67 south of town and met 7 state police cars and 4 unmarked cars behind them, lights on, running as hard as they'd go. Hope they can get it resolved peacefully.

I saw that headline on Fox News a bit ago though didn't hear much about it. Don't mean to make light of the issue, but how bad do things have to be to hold up a Farm store?

Here in Kansas you have to have paid your personal property taxes on vehicles to get cab card. I forgot last may to pay some and had to pay them to get my card.

Just saw on the net that they found the body of the gunman, a self inflicted gunshot wound. Its a shame, but at least it seems that no one else was hurt.

Does the petfood place pay the detention? Is the line that long, or are they just that slow? Glad you are at least getting paid for waiting.

Bullhaulers Wife-Joplin is where I am going with this Mars Petcare

RW- Yes the petfood place pays the detention $25 an hour after 2 hours and not really a long line but they are horribly inefficient and they hae a big corn bin so if they need some other ingriedient the line means nothing but like now tey are dumping corn as they use it and not filling the big bin because they are gonna do a scheduled fumigation this weekend (this makes NO sense in the middle of February) I haven't seen a bug in 2 months. So that is slowing it to one corn truck every 2 hours or so but its the best corn market in the midwest so you can make pretty good on the freight especially when you get paid to sleep I've had some weeks were the detention almost paid for the fuel

dairyman, RW. and Big John Thank this.
