Solo All 48?

Another Swiftie here. I started out doing all 48 for about my first 6 months or so. I went pretty much everywhere but to the Northeast. I think I just got lucky I never had a load to the there. I lived on Cape Cod in the early nineties and drove all over New England in a 4 wheeler. I have absolutely no desire to drive New England in a truck. Not on my bucket list at all! After 6 months, I switched, for personal reasons, to being a Western Region driver. I seldom go East of Denver. But, on occasion I will go back East. @Moosetek13 I was at the Richmond terminal at the beginning of April this year. Got a truck inspection done and spent the night. It is a nice terminal!

 

I too am reentering the industry after an extended hiatus and can confirm that Schnieder will hire candidates of this stripe for OTR.

And thankfully I don't have to sign an indentured servitude commitment (for any specified length of time) since they're not reimbursing me for school that I didn't attend, or so says my recruiter.

 

Abilene Motor Express hires drivers that have been off the road for 20 years as long as they have a cdl.

8 years at Swift as an OTR owner operator ... did a pick up or delivery every state but Nort Dakota during that time.

 

Schnieder was going to require me to take two weeks of classroom / driving instruction at their facility in Phoenix, then out with a trainer OTR for "about a week" or however much time it took me to impress upon the trainer that I'm ready.

Their recruiter was cool, professional, and easy to work with. Nothing against Schnieder per se, but I ended up accepting an offer from another company.
