I really like mink oil, have used it for years. However recently ive been using olive oil, it seems to absorb better and doesn't have that smell like mink oil does. However olive oil does tend to darken the leather more than mink oil does.

Good to have goals. I commend you. I was 6'1" but age shrunk to just <6. Easy living and good provided regular lunches got me to 260. Have contained it there, trying to reduce. Age and physical limitations preclude strenuous reducing. Just trying to eat less. Lets go forth and succeed. (Driving weight always was 195 to 205, depending on scales and location.)

Frequently Asked Questions About Obenauf's Products

I've used the paste and the oil. For boots the paste seems to work the best. Saddles and tack likes the oil but it's just a preference.

Thats what I use on my work boots that see alot of fertilizer. Only product I've found that will somewhat protect the leather from caustic materials.

I've used it for years. Huberd's is good too but the Obenauf's seems to hang in longer. My brother has pair of Wesco caulks that have been rebuilt twice since he bought them in the early 80s and I think the Obenauf's is part of why they've lasted so well.
LOL...he's still working as a faller and he's in his 70s so I figure he must be doing something right. Ornery little ####er, though. :)

In a boot you definitely get what you pay for. I’ve got two pairs of Daytons I bought in the early ‘80’s. A pair of “64” pattern caulks and a square toed engineers boot. I’ve had cars I paid less for than those caulks, but I still have the boots.

I am 6’ and just turned the calendar on 66 years. When I was running hard in the70’s and 80’s and working hard I was 140-150. I held that for a while when I was still doing a lot of manual work. Moved into management and started sitting too much. Eventually I managed to get up to 220. Changed my diet, intake quantity and and began doing more manual work. Currently at about 192. Carrying to much through the midsection. My goal is to get to 185 or less. Gonna be a hard task.

I didn't see the need in trying to quote you Pete or @JolliRoger since I'am basically replying to both
I have to do something.. because I feel it everytime I have to load
I've changed my eating habits alot the last couple months more salads & cottage cheese and cut back on the lunch meat & roller dogs and beer in fact beer is completely out of the picture now
I also need to put my noise back to the grindstone and get after it harder too the busier I am .. the less hungry I get.. I've gone up 3 pant sizes in 6 years
My goal is 40 less lbs ..and increase my weekly avg miles
