You seem to have a rather immature and irresponsible attitude.intexas66 and angeleyesinfl Thank this. -
You wonder why new drivers dump on these companies. If you think what Werner did was bad wait until you see your car insurance.

If she lives in PA, then two of those tickets might not even appear on her state driving record at all (not sure), if they were issued out of state. None of them will get her points.
I'm not trying to be a speeding apologist here; trust me, I'm one of those truckers that everyone honks at and curses on the CB because I don't go more than 3-4 mph over the speed limit as a rule -- but I can sympathize with the realization (too late) that she should have fought the tickets, at tremendous expense. With the way that local governments seem to be clenching their money-grubbing fists around every trucker passing by, I can't help but feel that way.
Granted, it may well be that we're missing part of the story here. I imagine that many of the complaining posts in this forum are missing some detail or other.
But what I do know is that two or three years ago, Werner would not have fired a driver for what she claims to have done. Two or three years ago, Werner might not even have fired her for twice as much. Whether you approve or disapprove of the firing, we all know why they're doing it now -- and it isn't because their consciences suddenly grew. It's because the economy's in the toilet, and they'd prefer to fire people instead of laying them off.
I disapprove of their policy (of generally blowing things out of proportion and aggressively papering DAC) because it's the very thing that discourages drivers from reporting incidents honestly. Honesty is actively punished, in fact.
The ugly truth is that truckers these days get into all sorts of minor scrapes, get all sorts of tickets, get accused of all manner of things. The main difference between those who survive and those who get ##### canned is that the former fight everything, and get some of it dismissed. Just a quick glance through the regulation forum here shows a number of obviously experienced truckers getting their fair share of tickets, and fighting/pleading them down. Are they equally deserving of your scorn, or do they get safety cred for having a lawyer?
So much of trucking isn't about how well you do the job; it's about how you play the game. That annoys me, in principle, even if for this particular case I turn out to be totally wrong. -

It doesn't matter what you were driving. You only have one driver's license and that's your CDL.If two of them were in your car then you cloud have taken a defensive driving class and had them dropped since they weren't that much over. It's different for each state.I've only had two speeding tickets on ten years. Both were in Texas were I live. One was in my car and the other in my truck. In Texas you can take defensive driving for a car but not for a commercial vehicle.

goldwing daddy Thanks this. -
Sorry u got fired Orion.I think u knew this was coming did'nt u?A very stupid reason to fire u.But none the less that's how Werner opoerates.I was with them almost 3 yrs. They've changed since I quit. They fire u at every little thing now.And I did'nt have that stupid no idle rule.As far as low miles go that has never changed. That's why I quit.I can't survive on less then $300.00 a week. Then your wife divorces u,gees thats really hitting below the belt. Well if u have over a yrs exp loook for the smaller companiesThey're so much better to drive for.Im driving for a company of 20 drivers and some of that 20 is O/O.I get the miles and very little sitting,Mainly to get loaded and unloaded is about all I sit.Only reason i'm sitting now is because of the blizard that went thru.So im picking up load mon.Alot of the smaller companies dont have the rules these big companies d
nly rule my company has is on time delivery. They don't care if u idle dont care where u fuel ect. There's only 3 office ppl,the owner, payroll and dispatcher. All great folks.
