I done a bit of everything, but just before I got into trucking ,I was driving and dispatching at a cab company.

Prior to that I had a lot of bartending and restaurant experience.

Spent most of my 20s and 30s as a small-time radio announcer. Had stints in sales before getting my CDL in '96.

Worked factories all my life. Last one 5yrs, dam good benefits, and pay.. Grossed $68,000 last yr before being laid off.. I was just a ordinary Joe, not supervisor or any thing, and still made that kind of cash.. Been trucking every since, as the factory work died out..

Well the very first job I had when I ETS'ed out in '75 was working in a woman's clothing store on Broad Street in Augusta GA. It was to help a "friend" out till she hired someone full time. I kinda enjoyed working there due to the curtains not pulling all the way closed to the fitting rooms and getting all the ...well...ahhh...leg shots and other compensations! To bad my "friend" was the jealous type and also needed a female for the job as I proved! Man what a dream job for a 21 year old!

Now I just sit around all day on the computer filling out applications and waiting on my disability check to start! I was doing pre hire applications for 2 trucking companies but gave that up as it's been 2 months since the first applications went in and still no pay! I guess it's true most "at home" jobs are a scam! Or at least the trucking ones!

I drove pizzas around for my Dad until I was legal to drive trucks, though there were a few times I'd take a temp position, like with animal control or a nearby meat packing plant. Then I drove.
Ducked out a few years back to wrench on airplanes, but the market for that sucks now.
